(l to r) Principal of the School Ms. Petrona Holder; CEO (Ag.) and NIFCA Producer, Mrs. Andrea Wells ; Music Teacher, Ms. Cassandra Greenidge; Agency Manager Sagicor Life, Mr. Adrian King and Marketing Officer, Sagicor Life, Ms. Folyann Taitt chatting about the junior night final.

The Sagicor NIFCA Junior Finals night will be held at the Frank Collymore Hall on Monday, November 5th and will feature acts from performers that are mostly 16 years and under in the area of Dance, Music and Theatre.

In commenting on the junior segment of NIFCA, Mrs. Andrea Wells, Chief Executive Officer (Ag) and the festival producer said that the youth have always played an important role at NIFCA since its inception 1973. On average over 70% of entries in the NIFCA Performing Arts categories are done by persons under the age of 30.

Wells noted that the Sagicor Junior Final has traditionally been one of the quickest selling tickets on the NIFCA calendar ever since its separation from the adult entries five years ago, so patrons have been advised to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment at the door.

The primary schools remain one of the vital contributors to NIFCA.  Educators use the experience of planning and participating to not only teach their charges about nationhood and identity, but also to expose the wider public to the vast talent in our schools and to the expert coaching by teachers of the Arts.

The NCF could not present such excellence to the public without the assistance of its sponsors.  Sagicor’s commitment for the past 5 years has maintained the youth profile as a key component of the Festival and their investment in the youth today will result in a fruitful and talent filled future.

Mr. Adrian King, Agency Manager, Sagicor Life expressed the company’s pleasure and commitment for another year, and congratulated the NCF on its NIFCA anniversary milestone.

He continued, “Through this festival, Barbadians from all walks of life have an outlet to explore our culture and express their creativity.”

On the night of the Sagicor Junior Final, the audience will be treated to the talented performances of individuals, as well as those of school and community groups, in the categories of dance, poetry, music and drama.
